Story
This year I’m running the London Marathon for our much-loved sister, Lisa, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 ALK+ lung cancer in April 2024. This diagnosis has changed life for their family in ways no one should have to face — for Lisa, her devoted husband Tom, and their three children. Yet through her inner strength, Lisa is finding a way to navigate this journey and keep moving forward with her life. Through her courage and grace, she continues to inspire hope for herself, her family, and everyone who loves her.
I am running in support of the Ruth Strauss Foundation, which supports families when a parent is living with an advanced cancer diagnosis. They provide care and guidance when it is needed most, fund vital research, and raise awareness of non-smoking lung cancers — helping to challenge misconceptions and drive progress in understanding and treatment. Lisa has never smoked — a reminder that lung cancer can affect anyone with lungs. Help raise awareness with #AllYouNeedIsLungs.
This is my first marathon, and while training for 26.2 miles is a personal challenge, it is nothing compared to the strength Lisa shows each day. Every mile represents progress, and every donation helps fund research that could improve treatments, save lives and give families hope. Thank you for supporting me — every contribution, big or small, truly makes a difference.
