Great North Run 2025 · 7 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Milo's Mission is a Special Named Fund at CCLG: The Children & Young People’s Cancer Association, raising funds for research into childhood cancer, with a particular focus on early diagnosis and kinder treatments.

Story

I will be running this years Great North Run with my close friend Jo in aid of Milo’ Mission,

This charity has been set up by Jo’s Sister Sam & Brother in law Alex in the memory of their Son Milo who sadly passed away in November last year aged 2 & 1/2.

I will be running to raise money for Children's Cancer and Leukemia group who fund vital research into childhood cancers to cure as many children as possible with kinder treatments so there are less short and long-term side effects.

Even though Cancer is the biggest killer in children aged one to 14 in the UK and rates are growing, funding into childhood cancer is tiny compared to adult cancer (only 2%).

Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group is a leading children's cancer charity and the UK and Ireland's professional association for those involved in the treatment and care of children with cancer.

Each week in the UK and Ireland, more than 30 children are diagnosed with cancer. We bring together professionals to ensure all children receive the best possible treatment and care. We support young patients and their families with our award winning, expert information. We fund and support research into childhood cancers.

Please please support and help me get my non running legs through 13.5 miles for Milo, any donation will be very much appreciated this great cause.
