The mission of the Matheny School and Hospital is to provide exceptional care and an optimal quality of life for children and adults with special needs and medically complex developmental disabilities. Our son, Scott, has benefited immeasurably from the extraordinary care he receives at Matheny, and the ability to live his very best life. This year, Scott was even able to go skiing, thanks to the Matheny team, and all of you who make these experiences possible. We can never thank you enough! Best Day Ever!

Matheny is a nonprofit organization founded in 1946 and headquartered in Somerset County, New Jersey. It is comprised of a special long-term care hospital, seven community group homes, two adult day centers, a private special school for children ages 3 – 21, a fine arts program, and outpatient dental, seating, and medical clinics serving the community.
