The purpose of The Big C Foundation NI is to promote the relief of sickness and distress of children who have a cancer diagnosis in Northern Ireland and provide practical support to their families by: Providing financial and practical assistance to families in Northern Ireland who have a child with a cancer diagnosis. Providing financial and practical support to established charities and organisations across Northern Ireland who help children with a cancer diagnosis.

Story

On Sunday 23rd August 2026, 24 members from Gleno Valley YFC will be running 13.1 miles in the Antrim Coast Half Marathon!

We are raising money for The Big C Foundation, a charity based in Larne that supports children diagnosed with cancer and their families. The charity was inspired by the life and cancer journey of Callum Rennie, who was affectionately nicknamed “Big C” by his father. Following Callum’s passing, his family established the foundation to help other families facing similar challenges.

What the charity does:

•Provides financial assistance to families whose child has recently received a cancer diagnosis, helping to ease the stress and costs that can arise during treatment.

•Purchases mobility and sensory equipment that can be loaned to children undergoing cancer treatment while they wait for specialist assessments and equipment.

•Supports other established charities and organisations across Northern Ireland that work with children affected by cancer.
