Team: Lonsdale Netball for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

Lonsdale Netball 125km

For Roses 2026, Lancaster University is joining the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) in their movement against suicide, the leading cause of death for 125 people every week and the single biggest killer of young people in the UK.

Story

Suicide is the leading cause of death for 15-39 year olds in the UK. That’s not a distant statistic. That’s our generation. That could be someone sitting next to me in a seminar, training beside me, or making pasta with me at midnight. Behind every number is a person.

125 people die from suicide every week in the UK, in memory of this, we as a club pledge to run/walk 125km in total before Roses begins on the 1st May!

So this year, we are helping to make Roses stand for something bigger than rivalry.
