Story

In July 2026, I’ll be taking part in Walk for Endo, raising money for Endometriosis UK and the incredible work they do to support those living with endometriosis, campaign for better care, and raise awareness of a condition that affects 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth.

This cause is deeply personal to me.

After more than a decade of symptoms, appointments, investigations, and fighting to be taken seriously, I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis in 2025. Like so many others, the journey to diagnosis was long, exhausting, and often heartbreaking.

Over the years I’ve undergone laparoscopic surgery, tried various medications, been in and out of chemical menopause, attended countless NHS and private appointments, and am still awaiting referral to an NHS specialist. Along the way, I’ve experienced what many people with endometriosis know all too well: being dismissed, gaslit, told my symptoms were normal, and having to repeatedly battle to be believed and treated.

The physical impact of endometriosis is significant, but the emotional toll of constantly having to advocate for yourself can be just as challenging.

I know how fortunate I am to have the support of my family and friends throughout this journey. Their encouragement has helped me keep pushing for answers and continue seeking the care I need.

That’s why I’m taking part in Walk for Endo 2026. Every step I take is for the millions of people living with endometriosis, for those still searching for a diagnosis, and for a future where nobody has to wait years to be heard.

Any donation, no matter how small, will help Endometriosis UK continue providing vital support, reliable information, education, and campaigning for better diagnosis times and treatment options.

It shouldn’t take over a decade for someone to receive answers about their own body. By supporting my Walk for Endo challenge, you’re helping Endometriosis UK fight for faster diagnosis, better treatment, and a future where people with endometriosis are listened to the first time they ask for help. Thank you for helping make that future possible.
