The British Lymphology Society is a dynamic and innovative body providing a strong professional voice and support for those involved in the care and treatment of people with lymphoedema and related lymphatic disorders, including lipoedema. The Society seeks to achieve high standards of care and equitable access to treatment across the UK and promotes early detection and intervention and, where appropriate, screening and prevention. The Society was established in November of 1985, originally as the British Lymphology Interest Group (BLIG).

Story

In loving memory of June, a much loved wife, mum, nan and great nanny ❤️

As many of you know June has suffered with Lymphoedema for many many years. This was a daily struggle and made life difficult in many ways. We wanted to raise awareness of this chronic inflammatory condition in which a part of the lymphatic drainage system fails to work effectively.

Lymphoedema affects all ages.

There are estimated to be almost 450,000 people in the UK with lymphoedema. It is more common than the combined number of people with Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, HIV and Parkinson’s Disease.
