Story
With a group of hardy colleagues from Federated Hermes I am taking part in my third fund raising event. The first year was scaling the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours. The second was canoeing down the Thames across 3 countries in 3 days. This year we are walking the South Downs Seven Sisters on the South coast walking 70kms in 3 days from 17-19 September 2025.
I am doing this to help raise funds for Alzheimer's Research UK. As we live longer and the population ages, the risk of dementia grows. It is a truly debilitating condition that affects the individual and their family profoundly and in many different ways, and most of us will be affected either directly or indirectly during our lifetimes. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected.
Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity supporting efforts to understand the causes and to find a cure. More people are being identified earlier than ever and to give them a chance of slowing the progress of the disease or even stopping/reversing its effects. Your donation will be used to support scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.
