Story
I’ve signed up to run the London Marathon 2026 – something I never thought I’d say!
If you know me, you’ll know I’m not a natural runner. In fact, the idea of running 26.2 miles genuinely terrifies me. I dipped my toe in with the Leeds Half Marathon last year, and even that felt like a huge challenge… so doubling that distance feels pretty daunting. But this time, I have a reason far bigger than the fear.
I’m running to raise funds for Martin House Children’s Hospice, which is Riva Home’s primary charity. They do incredible work supporting children and families through the most difficult times imaginable, providing care, comfort and dignity when it’s needed most.
Riva Home will also be matching the funds raised, which makes this challenge even more meaningful. This time, the matched funding will go to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice – a place that means a great deal to me personally.
Noah’s Ark cared for my best friend’s little girl, Celine 🌟, after she was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive cancer called Extrarenal Rhabdoid Tumour. She moved to the hospice to live her final days and the support they gave to Celine until her end and her family during such a heartbreaking time and continuing on now in their grief, is something I will never forget.
So this marathon isn’t just about running – it’s about pushing myself far beyond my comfort zone for two incredible charities that change lives every single day.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference. And knowing that the funds will be matched makes your support go even further.
Thank you so much for helping me get to that finish line 💙
