Story
I’ve decided to swap my sensible shoes for sparkly ones and take part in Hospice Strictly 2026 – and honestly, I still haven’t quite got over the fact that I nominated myself to do this!
As Head of Fundraising for the hospice, I usually spend my time persuading other people to do brave, slightly ridiculous things to raise money. This time, karma has well and truly caught up with me, and it’s my turn to step (and quite possibly trip) onto the dancefloor.
My dancing skills are… something to behold. I’ve never done any sort of dancing before. No ballroom, no Latin, not even a confident shuffle at a wedding. So this really is me stepping completely outside my comfort zone, learning from scratch, and hoping that muscle memory magically appears sometime before the live show.
Why am I doing it? Because I see every day the incredible difference the hospice makes to patients and families, and if embarrassing myself in sequins helps raise vital funds to support that care, then it’s absolutely worth it.
Please sponsor me if you can – every donation will help the hospice continue its amazing work, and it will also motivate me to keep practising instead of hiding behind my laptop. Thank you so much for your support (and please wish me luck… I’m definitely going to need it!). 💃🕺
