Story

As it's my 50th lap around the sun, I thought I should attempt my 4th lap of the London Marathon. I'm grateful to have been given a place by Danson Youth Trust to allow me to do this. I would be even more grateful if you would be able to add to my sponsorship total and help out a very worthwhile local charity.

Some details below about the charity and what they are looking to do with any donations., in particular, some projects aimed at children with SEN needs, which is a very big part of my life.

Thank you in advance

Justin

Danson Youth Trust is a well-established, community-rooted charity that supports families, children, young people and older adults to thrive at every stage of life. They work with families from prenatal care and early years through to youth activities and later-life support, offering a continuum of services that strengthen relationships, wellbeing and community connection.

Their purpose is to provide educational, recreational, and developmental opportunities that inspire children and young people to reach their full potential as confident, positive members of society. They are committed to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where individuals are empowered to make informed choices, build resilience and take responsibility for their lives.

LDN Marathon 2026 Fundraising

The money raised by the London Marathon runners 2026 will directly enable the trust to respond to emerging and unmet needs within the community. Funds raised will support three targeted projects designed to improve wellbeing, inclusion and access to opportunity.

The first will deliver a fun, structured social day programme for children experiencing stress and emotional-based school avoidance, providing a much-needed reset learning about, and modelling emotional regulation, positive peer connection and active, movement-based sessions that are fun, educational and a space that is away from formal education.

The second project will create a new funded pathway for children and young people with SEND, enabling greater access to our activities through exclusive SEND-specific groups while also widening inclusivity and participation across wider programmes.

The third project will strengthen the trusts ability to offer tailored, funded support for families facing barriers to access, ensuring children and young people can take part regardless of financial, emotional or developmental challenges.

Together, these projects will reduce isolation, build confidence and resilience, and ensure every child has the opportunity to feel safe, included and supported to thrive.
