Story
I'm running to support an amazing local charity who provide free mental health advocacy for inhabitants of Leicester and Rutland.
Personally speaking, I am lucky to have good mental health but am all too aware that people all around us struggle. My dad, for one, in an era when men were supposed to 'get on with it' struggled with depression and alcohol misuse. 75% of suicides are by men, double the rate of men than women die from alcohol specific causes. Poor mental health is calculated at £300 billion a year in England. If you can help even a little bit, please do.

About Leicestershire Action for Mental Health Project (Lamp)
Mental Health is complex. Our advocacy work involves, listening, guiding, planning, supporting and ensuring their needs are properly considered. Mental Health cannot be ‘cured’ with one conversation, it takes time to form trust. Our advocates devote hours, days, months to provide the best support.
