I'm walking a mile a day in September to raise awareness for Dementia UK. Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia. Too often their families and friends struggle to know where to turn or are left feeling completely exhausted, overwhelmed and alone. Dementia (which includes Alzheimer's disease) is a progressive condition that gradually gets worse over time so family and friends often feel like they lose the person they love slowly with each passing month.

Dementia UK is a specialist dementia nursing charity. Their Admiral Nurses provide a lifeline to families and friends of those living with dementia from advice and emotional support to practical advice on how to care for their loved one.
