Story
At the end of September, I will be trekking to Everest Base Camp (EBC). Over the course of 2 weeks I will walk over 130km and ascend a total of over 7,500m during the trek from Lukla in Nepal to EBC. EBC at over 5,400m will be the highest I have ever been and the altitude will make this trek a significant challenge.
I've recently joined Watersafe UK Search and Rescue Team as a volunteer responder. Watersafe is a voluntary search & rescue organisation and registered charity based in the East Midlands. Their purpose is to provide response and operational support to the Fire Service, Police and other blue light services ranging from flood rescue operations to searching for missing persons. Read more about Watersafe UK Search and Rescue Team here - https://www.wuksart.org/about/
As a small charity, Watersafe is wholly dependent on donations and grants to fund; vehicles, equipment and training in order to maintain the operational support to blue light services 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Any donations you are able to make will play a vital part in keeping this charity operational.
I will be self funding all aspects of the EBC trek myself, therefore 100% of all donations will go to this great charity that I am proud to support. Any donation regardless of size will be very gratefully received.
Thank you
Justin
