Walk for Endo 2025 · 1 July 2025 to 31 July 2025 ·

Over 1.5 million in the UK have endometriosis and the impact of the disease is for some devastating, yet diagnosis takes on average 8 years. With your donations we are turning this around, raising awareness, providing support and information, supporting research, and campaigning for change.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the walk for Endo challenge, the target for this challenge is to walk over 8,000+ steps per day throughout the month of July as the average time to get a diagnosis is 8 years. As I am joining this challenge late, I will be aiming for at least 13,000 steps per day.

I was officially diagnosed with endo after having surgery in February this year, a diagnosis I fought long and hard for. Endometriosis is an incurable condition and can be extremely debilitating, it is a condition where you hope that you will come out of surgery and be told you don't have it, as you wish for it to be something that can be cured.

Endometriosis has become a big part of my life, more so since surgery, and I suffer with a lot of symptoms post surgery from extreme levels of pain to extreme fatigue which can make day to day tasks challenging, but I don't let it get me down, I continue to enjoy life to the fullest on days that I can manage and continue to push through bad days with running a business and staying focussed on helping my clients do the best they can with their dogs.

I continue to stay as active as I can, going to the gym and hill walking at every opportunity, but this is becoming more challenging for me, and those who know me will know how much staying active means to me.

The exact cause of Endometriosis is still unknown and treatment options are limited to hormone treatment, pain management and surgery.

Endometriosis funding is limited so I want to take part in this challenge and challenges moving forward to raise as much money as I can to fund more research into the condition to help woman like myself who suffer with this condition.

Any support is greatly appreciated.
