Kai's Ridgeway Trek for Mindstep Foundation

Kai Pinnell is raising money for Mindstep Foundation

The Ridgeway National Trail · 15 September 2025

Mindstep was founded in memory of Max Davies who died by suicide at 22 years old in 2018. The charity funds mental health and suicide prevention research, awareness and support. We support vital research at the University of Glasgow, deliver ASIST courses and fund the training of counsellors.

Story

🌍 Every year, over 700,000 lives are lost to suicide.

That’s 700,000 families, friends, and communities left heartbroken. The Mindstep Foundation is working tirelessly to change that, funding vital mental health research, raising awareness, and providing much-needed support for those affected.

To help this incredible cause, I’m taking on a huge challenge: walking the Ridgeway National Trail, known as Britain’s Oldest Road. Over just 5 days, I’ll cover more than 160km across the Chilterns and North Wessex Downs, nearly a marathon a day, with no support vehicles, no cosy beds, and carrying everything I need on my back.

This will push me to my limits, but I’m doing it because mental health matters, and together we can save lives.

💙 Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference. Your support will help fund research, raise awareness, and bring hope to those who need it most.

Please join me on this journey and help turn every step into hope for someone else.

🙏 Thank you so much for your support
