Story
Hi, I’m Kaitlin
I’ve chosen to do the Cross Bay walk fundraiser for Lancashire women this year as it’s a charity that I couldn’t live without, literally. I’ve struggled with my mental health since I was in year 10 and two years ago I’d reached an all time low, I didn’t want to be here anymore. When I finally reached out to my GP I was referred to Lancashire Women who provided me with counselling, completely free of charge. By the end of my sessions I had made a lot of progress but I was still struggling, so they extended my sessions, yet again, free of charge. I am forever grateful for them as they helped through my darkest days.
The mental health services offered by the NHS are under so much strain and charities like Lancashire Women help to ease the load and save lives in the process. Please donate if you can, no matter how small you’re making a difference.
Why support Lancashire Women?
Lancashire Women support around 5000 individuals each year across Lancashire, by offering a safe space for women to seek support and access a wide range of FREE services, including Mental Health & Wellbeing, Employment Support, Money, Debt & Energy Advice, and Justice & Safety.
Women disproportionately experience inequality and disadvantage because of gender and for that reason LW exists to enable them to have choices for their lives and to feel they can take their place in society.
There is someone who needs you today, and your donation can change her life.
£5 would pay towards resources for our Peer Support groups.
£12 would help to train a volunteer Befriender to support women waiting for therapy.
£24 would pay for a woman to have a session with a counsellor.
£50 would help pay for a woman to attend our CPD accredited suicide awareness course.
