DARE2CARE – LEARN, LEAD, LAUNCH!
Dare2Care aims to spread awareness about the situation in Northern France and the work Kaleidoscope does. Dare2Care offers a chance for young people in the UK to show that they care about their peers around the World and are ready to stand with them when they suffer injustice. The Dare2Care toolkit was created to empower schools to take action in support of displaced young people. Through education, advocacy and fundraising, students can become changemakers in their communities.
The campaign is based on three main pillars:
1. LEARN
We believe that knowledge is the first step to action. The Dare2Care toolkit provides adapted resources for students from Key Stage 2 to 5, to introduce them to the reality of people on the move and especially of displaced young people in Northern France.
2. LEAD
Young people's voices matter and should be heard. That's why we want to give youth in the UK the possibility to find their own ways to take action to support their peers.
3. LAUNCH
Time to turn ideals into reality! Single young people, groups of friends or classes can pick one of the suggested challenges or come up with their own - sports, bake sales, quiz nights - and get sponsored to raise money to support Kaleidoscope's youth work in Calais and Dunkirk.
What is Kaleidoscope and what do we do?
Kaleidoscope is an NGO that creates mobile, open-access spaces for young people aged 12 to 18. These spaces provide safety and psychosocial support, as well as offering a chance to learn new skills and enjoy art, music, and sport – key parts of every young person’s life. Young people on the move in Calais and Dunkirk should not miss out on these experiences just because of their circumstances.
Together, we can Dare2Care and make a difference!
