Story
My name is Kandeel, and I am an Oncology Research Nurse at Salford Royal Hospital, working closely with the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre. I support clinical trials for patients with brain tumours, including glioblastoma - one of the most aggressive and devastating cancers. Every day, I see first-hand the urgent need for better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
Last year, I faced a personal challenge that changed my perspective and reminded me that if you have your health, you have everything. That realisation gave me the courage to push myself and take on a meaningful challenge.
This year, I am climbing Snowdon for my patients - past and present. This climb represents resilience, hope and determination. I am incredibly grateful for my health and want to use it to give back by raising funds for the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre, supporting vital glioblastoma research and helping to give patients the precious gift of more time.
To all my patients: you are truly incredible! The strength and courage you show every day inspire me more than you will ever know. I am so proud of every battle and challenge you have faced and continue to face with such courage. One day we WILL find a cure. Until then, we will keep researching, keep pushing forward, and keep fighting alongside each and every one of you!💙
