This Charity Run is for our father, who lives with Parkinson’s and whose symptoms worsened since 2022. Thanks to the dedication and expertise of all involved, our father was finally able to receive a special treatment this year after years on an NHS waiting list, bringing renewed hope, energy, and optimism for the future. This treatment has allowed his life to significantly improve, positively affecting everyone around him. We are incredibly grateful to the amazing teams at our Local Hospital, King’s College London, and Parkinson’s UK.

Many people living with Parkinson’s face tremors, stiffness, slowed movement, fatigue, insomnia, and restless nights, challenges that make everyday tasks more difficult. Yet those who suffer from Parkinson’s demonstrate courage, resilience, and determination that continue to inspire joy and admiration in everyone around them.

Families caring for someone with Parkinson’s often show remarkable strength, love, and dedication, quietly managing the impact it can have on their routines, work, and emotional wellbeing, a reality that is not always visible to the outside world.

This run is dedicated to representing patients and families, while raising funds and awareness to make this new medicine and treatment more accessible, affordable, and hopeful for all who need it.

Karaya was built on the belief in helping others build wealth through property, business ventures, and investments while honoring culture. It encourages people to chase their ambitions, cultivate good health, expand their knowledge, and pursue a career or business they are genuinely passionate about. Above all, Karaya reflects culture, promotes financial literacy for younger generations, and fosters charitable giving grounded in authentic life experiences.

Following our previous 2024 charity fundraising event for Cancer Research for our mother, we hope to continue this charity run in the same spirit. Raising awareness and funds to accelerate Parkinson’s research so treatments can reach those who need them faster, more efficiently, and more affordably. Every step we take celebrates patients, families, carers, and medical professionals, and honors the hope, courage, and happiness they bring to all our lives.

For those with Parkinson’s ~ patients, carers, families, & doctors who can’t run: We see you, we hear you, we run for you.

Muhammad Ali, one of the greatest of all time and who famously suffered from Parkinson’s, once said: “Float like a Butterfly, Sting like a Bee. Rumble, Young Man, Rumble.”
