Story
Mary Bridge Children’s Festival of Trees is the South Sound’s happiest holiday celebration supporting MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. Set in a fairy-tale wonderland with special events, gift shop and opportunities to visit with Santa, Festival is a cherished kickoff to December festivities. Hosted by Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation in partnership with Mary Bridge Brigade, 2025 proceeds will help build the new Mary Bridge Children’s hospital campus.
Mary Bridge Children’s Festival of Trees benefits MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Network, where miracles happen every day for infants, children, adolescents and families in our community. We’re very fortunate to have a children’s hospital that provides innovative, compassionate care and services close to home.
The Mary Bridge Brigade Esther Hodges Guild is designing a tree for the Gala tree auction. The name of the tree is “Not all Superheroes Wear Capes”. It is to honor Joan Cooley who passed away this year. Joan was a longtime childlife employee at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. She was a true Superhero to the thousands of children who required hospitalization at Mary Bridge over the 26 years she worked there. Joan was a huge advocate for children. She was always there to make sure children had the time and space to be kids despite being in the hospital. She never missed an opportunity to brighten the day of a sick child with her infectious laugh and endless supply of toys.
Please help us create a tree in her memory. Our tree design resolves around well known Superheroes such as Spiderman and Captain America. It will also include superhero toys and games. We will also be recognizing firefighters, healthcare providers and police as superheroes.
In addition to the tree itself the purchaser will receive a trip to a a Disney park to enjoy the Marvel Superheroes themed attractions.
By participating in Festival, you are supporting the needs of sick kids in our local community. Thank you for your generous support towards finishing a brand new freestanding Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital in Tacoma.
