Story
After successfully completing the Northumberland 'Mighty Hike' last year I have decided to take on an even bigger challenge!
This September, I’ll be walking 100km over two days along the Thames Path, from Putney to Henley. That’s two back-to-back Mighty Hikes (plus some!) and while I’m excited, I’m under no illusions: this is going to be a serious challenge.
Last weekend I completed a 50km training walk which I am delighted went much better than the 30km training walk I tried a few weeks ago which was very tough. Honesty, it is only having completed the 50km walk on Saturday which finally convinced me I would be able to complete the challenge! Whilst I walk I would like to again raise some money for a great cause.
Two years ago, I had a lucky escape. A malignant melanoma was caught early and thanks to quick treatment and support, I made a full recovery. Not everyone is as fortunate. I've seen first-hand the incredible work Macmillan Cancer Support do: the compassion, the guidance, the tireless advocacy for people living with cancer and their families.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps Macmillan be there for others through the hardest times of their lives. If you’re able to support me, I’d be incredibly grateful.
I'll get back to my training programme to make sure I complete this challenge!
