Jumping for a Cause: My Charity Skydive for Age UK Kent Rivers

On Friday, 30th May 2025, I will be taking a leap of faith—literally—by skydiving in Headcorn to raise vital funds for Age UK Kent Rivers' Information and Advice Team. This isn’t just a personal challenge; it’s an opportunity to support a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.

I have worked with Age UK for the past eight years as the Information and Advice Manager, and I have seen first-hand the difference our free support service makes to the lives of older people across Medway, Swale, Gravesham, and Dartford. Our team provides crucial advice and guidance to those who need it most, helping with everything from benefits and financial struggles to housing and care options. The demand for our service is growing, and we rely entirely on grants and fundraising to keep it going.

This skydive is more than just a fundraising effort for me—it’s the fulfilment of a lifelong dream. Over the past year, I have lost over 7 stone, making it possible for me to finally experience the thrill of jumping out of a plane! I wanted to turn this achievement into something even bigger by using it to raise money for our amazing and hardworking team.

I have personally covered the cost of my skydive, so 100% of all donations will go directly to Age UK Kent Rivers. Every penny raised will help ensure that older people in our community continue to receive the support and advice they deserve.
