Karen's fundraiser for Lenny's Legacy

Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running 2024 · 29 September 2024 ·
Just over 15 months after being involved in a major trauma which left me with some serious injuries (from which I am mostly recovered), I am set to run a marathon!
In what crazy world should that even be possible???
My story could have gone in a million different directions that day but, fortunately, because of my level of fitness (mainly due to my unfathomable love for running), my body refused to expire. This combined with the care, support and motivation received from hospital staff, family and friends, means my recovery has been, for want of a better term, super speedy!
Every day I am ridiculously aware how blummin’ fortunate I am to be here and to have my beautiful family and amazing friends around me. I am beyond grateful that I’m lucky enough to be here with my children.
However, at the end of last year a friend of mine was not so lucky. A friend I made through running, and who took time out of her busy life to come visit me during the early days of my recovery. This gorgeous lady and her husband had to go through the most unthinkable experience a parent could only imagine in their worst nightmare, they said goodbye to Henry the very same day he was born.
Once gain, in what crazy world should that be possible???
So, on Sunday 29th September I’ll be running 26 miles in the Loch Ness marathon and I will be thankful that I’m actually still able to do so, thankful that I’m able to return home to my children afterwards and thankful to anyone who might be able to make a donation to Lenny’s Legacy in Henry’s honour.
Lenny’s Legacy are a Sheffield based charity who provide support for bereaved parents, who have suffered the death of a child or children of any cause, or any age, including in pregnancy.
They currently provide support to Henry’s mummy and daddy, and its for them, and families who find themselves in a similar situation, that I would like to ask my friends if they might spare a couple of pounds so that people suffering the most unbearable form of pain conceivable might receive just a little support and comfort to help them find a way through.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and for anything you might be able to give x
