Story
For those of you who know me it, will come as no surprise that I strongly believe in the positive benefits that nature, fresh air and exercise can bring. Add in a handful of dirt and something that grows and you have a winning combination.
The Green Hub Project for Teens is a local charity helping young people with anxiety and mental health challenges. The work they do getting young people outdoors in nature is amazing, and the support they give to teenagers, parents and families can be a real lifeline.
Their approach is based on 'the Five Ways to Wellbeing' and being part of the Green Hub 'Guildford 10K' Team is a perfect example of why this can be so powerful ...
We've had a few inspirational runners in our family; niece Abby and youngest daughter Leah, doing a half marathon each in the last year and my little bruv who we mustn't forget, completed the London marathon some years back. (still can't belief that ;) ).
I'm starting with a little 10k after Leah took me out on a training run with her. I am not a natural runner and although I love the feeling of freedom it brings, the training is proving tough. Any donations, however big or small, would help spur me on with training and continue to fund Green Hub's valuable work.
Thank you.
