Story
I am attempting to walk 42km across the rollicking South Downs in a single day with my brother. This is to honour the memory of my beautiful sister-in-law, Jacks, who bravely fought breast cancer for four years. It will (hopefully!) take between 10 and 12 hours and will be a massive challenge for me. However, it is nothing compared to the challenges that Jacks faced, uncomplainingly, and always focussing on the wonderful things in life.
Jacks was not alone in fighting breast cancer. I have known - and continue to know - so many wonderful friends who have battled this disease. I am always awed by the dignity and grace with which they do so. Many of them have also benefited from the support of the Royal Marsden and other cancer research charities. They are so valuable in giving strength and comfort to those that fight breast cancer, and hope to their families and loved ones. It’s such a privilege to do this walk in aid of their wonderful work.
