The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Imagine waking up one morning to complete darkness, realising you will never be able to see again. Unfortunately for some people, this is reality.

I will be partaking in a 'Blind Day' where I will be blindfolded for the day, going out shopping and for dinner to experience the difficulties that someone with complete sight loss faces daily. I will have to do the everyday tasks that sighted people take for granted. My husband and daughter will be my guides for the day.

I'm fully aware of just how difficult this challenge is going to, be mentally, emotionally and physically but at the end of the day I know I'll be able to take off the blindfold and be able to see again, a blind person will never that opportunity again.

Having met so many people living with sight loss conditions and hearing how Guide Dogs has helped them, I feel I need to help raise much needed funds whilst raising awareness at the same time. I'm sure we can all appreciate just how much we rely on our sight.

If I manage to raise £2500 or more, I'll have the opportunity to name a guide dog puppy too so its an extra incentive for me to try and raise as much as possible.

Please support me if you can.
