This year I am taking part in Run the River 2025 because I want to ensure every child, whatever their background gets the education they deserve, and the opportunity to fulfil their potential. I'm running with a group of colleagues from Steamship Mutual who have kindly entered us into the run.

Imagine this. You’re out running with a friend, and you come to find their route is clear, yet yours is filled with hills and hurdles. Is that fair? No. But that’s what the UK education system is like for children experiencing poverty in the UK.

One in four children in the UK live in poverty. Together we can work together to support schools and children that face some of the toughest challenges. Teach First finds and trains the best new teachers and place them in areas the most in need. We also equip schools across the country serving deprived communities with training, expertise and resources.
