Karen's Hike for Hearts for British Heart Foundation

Karen Harper is raising money for British Heart Foundation
In memory of Phil

30 mile walking challenge

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page. I am embarking on a 30 mile hiking chaIlenge on what would have been mine and Phil's anniversary weekend. Me and the lovely friends I met on my last BHF challenge will be hiking along the North Yorkshire Moors. A place me and Phil would visit, we loved walking together in the great British countryside.

The 30 miles represents the 30th wedding anniversary we were so close to celebrating together. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of Phil's mum's passing. Phil was a healthy, hardworking 60 year old and his mum was only 59. Both died suddenly of a massive heart attack.

Please support me in raising money for the British Heart Foundation to help fund vital research into hereditary heart conditions. Let's help prevent future generations from having their hearts broken by sudden cardiac arrest like our family and many more. I'd be so grateful for any support you can give in memory of my beloved husband and his mum.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people like Phil and his mum lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thank you so much for your support ❤️
