Story
400,000 steps for 400,000 people living with Type 1 Diabetes in the UK - here is Leo's story.........
Leo is 10 years old & was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in January 2025. He has been an absolute superstar managing his daily (min) 4 injections, nutrition and handling of technical equipment. He never complains & just gets on with it - he is a true warrior.
We are now making it our mission to raise as much money as possible to help find a cure. Please help........
Alice, Karen and Amanda have joined forces & will be walking 400,000 steps from 6th October leading up to World Diabetes day on 14th November 2025.
Breakthrough T1 have provided Leo with help, advice and hope, that one day there will be a cure. Your help will fund vital research and support.
Your money really helps: When Leo was diagnosed, his Diabetes team gave him a goodie pack that included Rufus the teddy who also has type 1 diabetes. The teddy has special felt patches on his tummy with injection sites that helped Leo practice. Rufus gave Leo confidence and comfort to tackle his new diagnosis when he was ill in hospital. Every £11 helps buy a goodie/support bag for newly diagnosed children.
Thank you for your support, whatever you donate is really appreciated. Together, we can help to cure type 1 diabetes!
