A syringe driver is a small machine used in palliative care which administers medication providing a steady stream of pain relief when patients can’t take medicines orally. They help patients remain at home with their loved ones instead of going into hospital or a hospice. Info at: www.ngnpuk.com.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

During Mum’s final days we experienced her suffering, which for her and our family was distressing lo see. The last thing you want for a loved one is to see them in pain. She was able to have a syringe driver fitted after a few days, which gave us all the knowledge that she was comfortable and pain free. This was a ‘game changer’ and we were able to nurse mum and be by her side until she passed away.

When talking with the community nurses we found out that the local community of Whittlesey, Thorne, Eye and Stanground only have 2 syringe drivers to share. People face unnecessary suffering as these devices are not readily available. One minute in pain is 60 seconds too long.

No Gain, No Pain UK (NGNPUK) aims to supply more syringe drivers to the community to support those in need of pain relief during end-of-life care.

We would love to be able to help and raise enough money in mum’s memory to purchase a new driver with lockbox, which is necessary for them to be used in the local community. Please use the link below to make your donation and remember a happy memory you have of your time knowing our dearly lived mum. Thank you.
