Climbing Out Fundraising Hike 2026

Karen Scrowther is raising money for Climbing Out

The Shropshire Peaks Challenge · 22 August 2026

Climbing Out supports people to get their lives back on track following a life changing illness, injury or trauma. This year’s Fundraising Hike will once again be taking place in Shropshire, on Saturday August 22nd.

Story

I'm taking on this hike to raise money for Climbing Out, an incredible charity that helps people rebuild their confidence and rediscover themselves after life-changing illness, injury or trauma.

After years of living with Crohn's disease and navigating some very difficult personal challenges, I was lucky enough to take part in one of Climbing Out's programmes. I wasn't sure what to expect, but what I found was so much more than an outdoor adventure. It reminded me that I am stronger than I thought, helped me regain confidence I'd lost, and gave me the courage to look forwards instead of backwards.

Climbing Out has genuinely changed my life. It gave me back a part of myself that I thought I'd lost, and for that I'll always be grateful.

Now I'm taking on this hike to give something back, so that other people facing their own challenges can experience the same hope, confidence and support that I did.

If you're able to sponsor me, no matter how big or small the donation, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every pound raised will help Climbing Out continue changing lives.

Thank you so much for your support – it truly means the world to me.

This August we're inviting people to come to Shropshire and join us on a day's hike in the beautiful Long Mynd to raise money for Climbing Out. There are 3 routes, so everyone can pick a challenge right for them, meet others touched by Climbing Out, raise some funds and have some fun.

Please support us by coming along or donating to somebody who is.
