Story

When we moved to Cornwall, Paul joined the St Columb bowling club and very quickly became friends with Nigel Lawry. Two of a kind they are.

Gary joined the club not long after and the three of them get on incredibly well. Sadly in November 2023 Nigel was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer. He is currently receiving chemotherapy to relieve his symptoms but unfortunately it is Terminal.

We have chosen the Sun Rise centre in Treliske hospital as part of our chosen charity for many reasons personally. We have had a lot of friends receive incredible care and feel we would like to give back to their amazing centre.

As you may remember in March 2022, Paul, Suzan (our daughter) and Gary and Sim from the Cavernoma society charity walked from lands end to Trevarrian along the coastal path. We raised alot of money for the Cavernoma society during this event that we have decided to take on another challenge. The reason we chose that charity in particular was because both our granddaughters Taylor and Elise, along with their mum, our daughter Suzan suffer from cavernomas in their brains. The Cavernoma society charity helped support them all during their surgeries and diagnosis’.

So on 20th March they will be starting a coastal walk from Wide Mouth Bay near Bude, to Trevarrian campsite in aid of raising vital funds for the sunrise centre.

23rd March (Saturday) the finish line will be across the Trevarrian campsite gates. To celebrate another successful walk we will be having a celebration from 12 mid day till 5pm where there will be a raffle, tombola stall and cake sale as well as other exciting things planned.

We would love you to join us in this celebration. Sadly we all know someone who has suffered or suffering from cancer. The centre we have chosen really do make such a positive impact of their patients and their families. We are asking for donations as little or as much as you can afford to give.

We have chosen to split the money raised 50/50 to the Sunrise centre and Cavernoma society.

Thankyou for your support, if you cannot donate please share because together we are stronger ❤️
