I'm taking part in Strictly Knot Dancing 2025 to raise vital funds for the incredible Dougie Mac Hospice.

Organised by Knot Events, I am one of 11 local business leaders participating in a strictly styled ‘Strictly Knot Dancing’ event to be held at the Kings’s Hall on 3rd October. Paired with a professional dancer each volunteer will learn and show case new skills at a black tie event to raise vital funds for the incredible Dougie Mac. The event is part of the Stoke-on-Trent’s centenary celebrations.

'This is most definitely a case of my saying yes before I gave proper thought. Whilst I am genuinely excited about learning a new skill, the thought of performing at such an occasion fills me with absolute dread. Having had my first lesson, I have realised there is rather a steep learning curve to be able to pull this off. If you could support me towards our fund raising target I would be extremely grateful.'

On Friday 3rd October, I’ll be stepping onto the dance floor at the King’s Hall in Stoke-on-Trent and I’ve pledged to raise £4,000 to help Dougie Mac continue providing the compassionate, specialist care they’re so well known for.

Dougie Mac supports over 3,500 people and families every year across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire, offering end-of-life care, emotional support, and dignity to those facing life-limiting conditions — all completely free of charge. But this vital work costs over £23 million a year, and more than 75% of that comes from community donations.

Every pound you donate will help make a difference — whether it’s funding a nurse’s visit, bereavement counselling, or a peaceful hospice room for someone in need.
