Easter 2024 I travelled to Lourdes for the first time as a helper / nurse with HCPT Group 115.

We traveled as volunteers to look after a group of amazing VIPs and we all had a wonderful trip

One of our VIPs , a young man called Denis had a real impact on me. Denis had his challenges, however he always had a smile on his face and made sure that every day together was one filled with fun and laughter. His smile was infectious and his humour sharp and witty.

Earlier this year we were devastated to hear that Denis had passed away.

My memories of Denis, will always be of his smile and happy demeanour from the moment we met..

I feel blessed to have known him and have been part of the team that enabled him to have a truly memorable experience and for his family a week of respite.

I have decided that In Denis' memory, along with my two closest friends Theresa and Rose to raise money for HCPT. We will therfore be taking part in the Westport sea2summit challenge. We hope to raise enough money for HCPT to allow group 115 make this wonderful week possible for another child and their family.
