Hello, Hello! My name is Karim, a passionate Gibraltarian eager to give back to a community that has given me so much! This will be my first half-marathon, and I welcome the challenge with open arms - especially because I'm running for a brilliant local charity: Clubhouse Gibraltar!

Who are Clubhouse Gibraltar?

A mental health charity nestled in the heart of town, Clubhouse provide individuals of all ages with employment opportunities, professional development opportunities, and, most importantly, a purpose-driven lifestyle.

The organization operates a self-sustained charity shop, where members are given structured routines and a safe environment in which to grow both personally and professionally. Alongside the shop, Clubhouse offers low-cost, freshly cooked meals for its members, fostering a sense of community and promoting positive wellbeing.

In addition to the hospitality and retail spaces, the charity also promotes development in business and administration, with individuals managing the accounts and correspondence related to the charity shop! From maintaining the facilities, to organizing the transport of goods and dealing with external stakeholders, everyone is encouraged to participate and engage with the running of the Clubhouse!

Beyond the doors of their premises, the organisation offers professional placements with a number of employers in the local community, giving its members a chance to branch out and find life-changing employment opportunities in the Gibraltarian community.

Why am I running for Clubhouse Gibraltar?

As a proud Gibraltarian, I want to see the empowerment of all members of our community, regardless of academic history or personal struggles. Structure and routine lead to discipline, and discipline leads to the discovery of purpose. A person with purpose can truly transform their life, and that's exactly what Clubhouse Gibraltar is helping people achieve.

As such, it is an absolute honour to be able to fundraise for a trailblazing charity, which is redefining the narrative around employment and personal development in Gibraltar
