Story
Eid al-Adha is traditionally a time of joy, generosity and community. Yet for many families in Syria, years of conflict and displacement mean that even basic food and essentials remain out of reach. More than 90% of Syrians are estimated to live below the poverty line, with vulnerable families and children continuing to face extremely difficult conditions.
Three Wishes is providing Udhiyah/Qurbani meat and associated humanitarian support to vulnerable people in Syria. A single Udhiyah share from a sheep costs approximately £275 and can make a meaningful difference to families who have lost so much.
Alongside Udhiyah distributions, Three Wishes also hopes to provide Eidiyah, sweets, gifts and related humanitarian assistance to children whose childhoods have been shaped by conflict and poverty.
To assist with operational planning, livestock procurement and distribution arrangements, donations intended for Eid al-Adha 2026 distributions should be made by Friday 22 May 2026.
We seek to ensure that meat distributed through the appeal is of appropriate quality and that Qurbani is carried out in accordance with Islamic principles and local practice. Wherever possible, we work with local suppliers and communities in order to support local livelihoods and economies.
Three Wishes aims to prioritise vulnerable families and hard-to-reach communities, including those in areas worst affected by poverty, displacement and conflict.
All donations are applied subject to the trustees’ discretion and legal duties as charity trustees. Donations do not confer any contractual or proprietary right on any donor, beneficiary or third party in relation to any specific animal, distribution, location, timing or method of delivery.
The trustees reserve the right to apply donations in the manner they consider most effective and appropriate in furtherance of the charitable purposes of the appeal, having regard to operational, humanitarian, security, logistical and regulatory considerations.
Where it is not possible, practical or appropriate to apply all funds exactly as originally envisaged, including in cases of surplus funds, operational constraints, delivery failure or changed circumstances, the trustees may apply donations toward similar charitable purposes consistent with the spirit and objectives of the appeal and the Charity’s charitable objects.
By donating to this appeal, donors acknowledge that donations will be applied in accordance with the above arrangements and the trustees’ legal duties.
