More UK Muslims than ever before are in desperate need for financial help due to the real cost of living crisis in our communities. They need our support right now as vulnerable women with children, asylum seekers and victims of trafficking suffer in silence on our very own doorsteps within our communities.

The Karima Foundation have teamed up with the National Zakat Foundation this Ramadan to raise emergency funds for their The Hardship Relief Fund.

This fund will give grants for basic costs to vulnerable Muslims in local communities across the UK who are unable to pay for basic living costs.

When you give your Zakat, NZF checks applications from people in need. NZF checks the applicants are genuine, using technology such as Open Banking.

NZF checks that they are eligible for Zakat. If eligible, NZF takes care to get them financial support as quickly and directly as possible, in the way they would like it. 

When a Muslim in the UK is in need, NZF’s infrastructure means NZF can support them regardless of whether they are in High Wycombe, Plymouth, Belfast, or even Inverness!

That might mean NZF sends it to their bank account, it might mean they pick up the Zakat from their local Post Office or local approved Masjid.

Give your Zakat in the UK this Ramadan, play your part in supporting those in need locally.

We are also looking at how we can support and refer vulnerable families in Wycombe to apply for the zakat via NZF.
