Story
In March 2026, I will be running the Liverpool Half Marathon in memory of our daughter, Zoe, and to raise funds for an extraordinary charity called Claire House Children’s Hospice.
In 2022, my husband and I discovered that we were expecting our baby girl, Zoe, who was diagnosed with Patau Syndrome (Trisomy 13). Zoe was born on 12 October 2022 and, against all odds, we were blessed with three precious months with her. She passed away peacefully on 29 January 2023, surrounded by love.
During Zoe’s short but deeply meaningful life, Claire House was by our side every single day. Their incredible team provided compassionate, specialised care for Zoe and unwavering emotional support for us as parents. They didn’t just care for our daughter, they cared for our whole family, helping us create memories we will cherish forever.
After Zoe’s passing, the support did not stop. Through the Butterfly Team, Claire House continued to walk alongside us, offering comfort, understanding, and guidance during the darkest and most painful chapter of our lives. Their care helped us survive grief that no parent should ever have to face alone.
Running this half marathon is my way of honouring Zoe’s life, her strength, and the love she brought into our lives. It is also my way of giving back to a charity that gave us so much when we needed it most.
By donating, you are not only supporting my run, you are helping Claire House continue to provide vital care, dignity, and compassion to children with life-limiting conditions and to families facing unimaginable loss.
I will be running for Zoe.
In memory of her.
In gratitude for Claire House.
And in hope that other families will receive the same love and support that carried us through.
Thank you for reading, for remembering Zoe, and for any donation you are able to make. 🤍
