Early this year my sisters and I devastatingly lost our beautiful mum Conny to brain cancer. We miss her terribly, and feel lost without the love she gave that made the world feel safe. Our dad lost his wonderful and charming wife of 34 years. Her friends, of whom there are so very many, lost a kind, humorous and eternally generous friend. She was simply the best and none of our lives will ever be the same without her.
Brain cancer is an incredibly cruel disease, which took her life just 6 months after being diagnosed and affected every aspect of her life profoundly.
Of all funding for cancer research and treatments, brain tumours receive just 1.37% despite having the second poorest survival rate of all cancers and being the number one cause of death by cancer in children and adults under 40.
We are determined to raise funds to aid vital research into brain tumour research, to support families going through similar situations, and to give back to the Brain Tumour Charity who provided information, guidance and counselling to us throughout. Please join us in making a difference.
