Story
Hey,
In June 2027 I’ll be cycling from London to Brighton for Mind. That’s 54 miles. Yes, me. A man built more for the buffet than the bike is about to attempt something genuinely athletic. Pray for the saddle.
Mental health is very important. Not too long ago I was stuck in a cycle of anxiety and bad habits, and it was a hard pattern to break. What helped me was getting active. The gym, then rugby, then having a routine and teammates around me. It rebuilt my confidence and made a huge difference to my mental health.
But I was lucky. Not everyone has the support or tools to get through it on their own, and that’s where Mind comes in. They offer advice and support to people dealing with anxiety, depression and other mental health challenges, because nobody should face it alone. So, with no irony or pun intended, I will be doing the bike ride in a way of celebrating the breaking of that cycle.
Every donation, big or small, helps Mind keep doing brilliant work. And it helps me convince myself this was a good idea. Thank you! 🚴
