Story
I am running the London Marathon 2026 in support of Mysterious Minds, a local foundation based in Hull that supports families across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire who have lost a loved one to suicide.
Who are Mysterious Minds?
Mysterious Minds exists to support families affected by suicide and to help people who are struggling with their mental health. Sadly, many people face unmet needs when they are unwell, which can leave them feeling hopeless and without options. When a life is lost, the impact on families and friends is devastating and long-lasting.
Mysterious Minds offers practical support at an incredibly difficult time by providing financial help towards funeral costs, allowing families to grieve without the added pressure of financial stress.
Why did I choose Mysterious Minds?
Mysterious Minds is a small, dedicated team based in Hull who are deeply passionate about supporting people with mental health difficulties and those who have lost someone to suicide. With the backing of the local community, they hope to continue growing and reaching even more people who need their help.
How do they support the community in Hull?
They support individuals who are struggling with their mental health by signposting them to appropriate services.
They help families and individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one to access relevant emotional and practical support.
They aim to relieve the financial strain faced by families bereaved by suicide by contributing towards funeral expenses.
Mysterious Minds are also proud winners at the National Diversity Awards, receiving the Community Organisation Award (Multi-Strand), recognising the positive impact they have made so far.
If you or someone you know is struggling, please remember that you are not alone and help is available.
