Story
On 22nd June 2026, I will set off from Lands End to walk the length of the country, aiming to finish at John O'Groats on Saturday 22nd August
I will be walking maximum 20 miles a day, Monday-Friday, for 9 weeks.
CRY is a charity very close to my family. My wife, Carli, sadly passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition on 31 May 2017. Working with CRY (and our own Southend-based charity, Carli Lansley Foundation), we have held 31 screening days, checked the hearts of nearly 3000 young people and found over 130 that needed a further referral
The LEJOG is being done to raise national awareness of CRY and Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS)
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.
By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
