We work with separated young refugees and asylum seekers, also known as UASC (Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children). These are young people aged 16 to 24 who have arrived in Kent alone and are claiming asylum. We provide them with a safe, positive space and support them to succeed.

Story

I’m running the Beachy Head Marathon this October in aid of Kent Refugee Action Network, to help them in their efforts to support refugees and asylum seekers in and around Kent.

They (amongst other things) run the 'KRAN Bike Project':

"KRAN is collaborating with The Bike Shed Kent to provide renovated secondhand bikes to the refugees and asylum-seeking young people. Bikes are one of our most frequent requests from the young people, giving them freedom to travel in a healthy, free and eco-friendly way. We would love to be able to provide any young refugee or asylum seeker who wants - or needs one - with a bike, lock, lights, helmet, and cycle safety training."

In light of the recent 'protests', and disgusting hate rhetoric being peddled in the UK, I'd like to fundraise and offer some support to a brilliant cause - and I'm aiming to be able to provide enough money for 4x refurbished second hand bikes, helmets, bike locks and safety courses.
