Story
Karl has officially lost the plot.
This year, in what can only be described as a midlife crisis in new trainers, he’s taking on the Mountain & Four Marathons Challenge. It starts with running four full marathons and finishes by casually climbing a mountain.
Yep, while most of us are complaining about walking up the stairs, he’ll be climbing Europe’s highest peak. As we struggle to get our 10,000 steps in, he’ll be clocking up over 100 miles of racing — not including the vertical bit.
First up, 26.2 miles in:
Tokyo Marathon - 1st March
Rome Marathon - 22nd March
Manchester Marathon - 19th April
Edinburgh Marathon - 24th May
That’s 104.8 miles of running. On purpose.
Mont Blanc - 9th July
And just when his legs think they’re safe… he’ll head off to climb Mont Blanc — Western Europe’s highest mountain. Because nothing says “recovery” like altitude sickness and crampons.
Why is he doing this?
Not for the medals. Not for the blisters and chafed nipples. Not even for all the pasta in Rome (although, it is a good excuse for some serious carb loading).
He’s doing it to raise money for the MS Society, for his sister, who was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis in 2014.
MS is unpredictable and relentless. It can affect mobility, energy, vision and balance. The MS Society funds vital research, provides practical support, and works toward a future where no one has to face MS alone.
Karl can’t fix MS. But he can be equally relentless by running 104.8 miles and climbing a mountain. Every donation — big or small — will help fund research, support families, and bring us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.
So if you’d like to:
✔️ Help fight MS
✔️ Support an incredible cause
✔️ Honour someone living with this condition
✔️ See Karl in a lot of pain
Please donate generously.
Because if he’s going to run four marathons and then climb Mont Blanc, the least we can do is make sure it truly counts.
Thank you so much for your support — it means more than you know.
