We aim to help bereaved children through treasuring existing memories alongside making new ones. We provide memory boxes and supporting materials to hospitals, hospices, funeral directors and more to help professionals better support children and families experiencing bereavement.

Story

I qualified as a nurse 15 years ago and am now Clinical and Operational Lead for End of Life Services, a Queens Nurse, with a background mostly working within a community setting.

The End of Life Service provide memory boxes from the charity Made a Mark to support children during the bereavement of a parent or similar care giver and/or sibling. The boxes come in three age ranges and include;

• Inkless hand print kit

• Hair lock kit

• Pair of matching soft toys

• Journal

• Age appropriate books

Each box costs £40 and the charity has supplied over 4000 boxes since starting in 2018! In 2023 they supplied 1,182 memory boxes to organisations across England costing £47,280.

I have seen first hand the important service that Made A Mark provide and have chosen to raise money for them when I run the London Marathon for the first time this year.

I would ask anyone who is able to support me and this incredibly deserving charity, I appreciate times are tough but a small donation could make a big difference.

6 months ago I couldn't run more than 5km, so this will be a challenge!

Thank you
