Story
Before I got cancer, I used to run. Slowly. After cancer I ran. More slowly.
I even did two 10ks in the months after my operation. Then I got covid in 2020 which developed into long covid and I couldn’t run.
It’s been a massive struggle to get back to running. Mentally and physically.
I want to raise money in memory of one of my biggest supporters who sadly passed away last year. Margaret did so much for me and others plus The Fire Fighters charity have been amazing, getting me back on my feet (twice now!).
I’ll be doing five running events - Inverness 5k in March, Run the Blades - the night one 10k on the 22nd March (in the dark!), the Isle of Skye 10k on the 8th June, Run the Blades half marathon on the 21st July AND now the famous Great North Run on September 8th. All will be done slowly with plenty cussing! This is my way of saying thank you to Margaret and the FFC whilst sticking two fingers up at cancer.
I really appreciate your support!
