🎉 Celebrating My Birthday & International Women’s Day! 🎉
Today is a special day—not just because it’s my birthday, but because it’s International Women’s Day! Being born on a day that honours the strength, resilience, and achievements of women makes me even more passionate about championing their presence in research, psychology, and every field where their voices need to be heard.
Women belong in labs, in leadership, in policymaking, in therapy rooms—both as professionals and as those receiving the support they deserve. That’s why, instead of gifts, I’d love for you to consider donating to HSTAR Scotland SCIO.
This incredible charity provides a wide range of trauma informed therapeutic services (including mental health and wellbeing support, one-to-one therapy sessions, group sessions and holistic therapies) for female survivors of trauma and abuse, helping them heal and rebuild their lives. HSTAR Scotland SCIO believe in empowering women by respecting and appreciating what makes them different, in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, education, thought and national origin. Their services support and reflect the diversity of women and services that they work with, being accessible, inclusive and supportive to the women and their children to overcome fear, loneliness, anxiety, stigma and dealing with day to day life.
If you’d like to celebrate with me, please consider making a contribution—every bit helps in creating a world where women feel safe, supported, and empowered.
Here’s to more women in research, in psychology, and in every space where we belong. 💜 #IWD #WomenInResearch #HSTARScotland #SupportSurvivors
