Kartik's fundraiser for Royal Signals Charity

Lakeland 100 (105 miles) Ultra-marathon · 25 July 2025
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.
I will be running in the Lake District to raise funds for the Royal Corps of Signals. I will be running for this charity on behalf of the newly formed Royal Signals Fijian Association and in memory of one of our own, Cpl Pat Mitchell who sadly passed away in 2023. The charity stepped up last minute and allowed us to say goodbye to Pat. Raising funds is my way to say thank you on behalf of all affiliated Fijians.
'Anyone can run' I hear you say, but to suffer maximum pain, I will be running the Lakeland 100. This event is advertised as 100 miles but in reality, it is 105 miles (169km) long. Coincidentally, the Corps turns 105 this year as well, so why not mark this occasion in style.
The event known as the Lakeland 100 ‘Ultra Tour of the Lake District’ is the most spectacular long distance trail race which has ever taken place within the UK. The circular route encompasses the whole of the Lakeland fells and includes in the region of 21000ft of ascent (Everest is 29000ft for comparison). Starting at 1800 on Friday 25 Jul, I intend to complete this event in 35 to 38 hours whilst carrying a pack weighing 10kg to give myself maximum suffering in the hopes of raising more funds from you. The plan is to run through the first night, suffer through the next day and then add to the pain by running through another night. After all that, I will cross that finish line even if I have to crawl.
Please support however you can; I promise you that it will be worthwhile.
Thank you.
