Please support me in fundraising for Tiratanaloka Unlimited
To raise funds I’d like to intensify my own practice by chanting the Avalokiteshvara mantra 100,000 times over a nine month period starting 14th December which is the death anniversary of the great Doctor Ambedkar, who is considered a Bodhisattva.
I think the world needs Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva who embodies the compassion of all Buddhas, more so now than ever.
Moksavadini has generously made and donated a mala of Snow Jade which I’ll use and which you’ll hear more about towards the end. Please let me know if there is anyone you’d like me to hold in mind as I chant.
I first came to Tiratanaloka in 2004, aged 27, it really galvanised my going for refuge and set me on a course which I’ll be forever grateful for. I feel very grateful to be ordained into this Order.
I was invited to come and live and work at Tiratanaloka in March 2015. I wanted to be part of supporting others to deepen their going for refuge and be Ordained into this Order, the Triratna Buddhist Order. It’s a real privilege to be able to live and work here; to walk in the footsteps and stand on the shoulders of the 'giant women' who have gone before.
I continue to be moved by women and fellow practitioners who are making radical changes to their lives in a large part due to the conditions here. I want to help make Tiratanaloka available for more people to come and live with us but also come on retreat. Tiratanaloka is raising funds to buy a bigger space (this project is called Tiratanaloka Unlimited).
Right now we are very limited in retreat spaces we can offer, our planned move will enable us to meet the enthusiasm, needs and energy that is already here, we want to offer places on retreat without the need for waiting lists and also to have the capacity and flexibility to respond to future needs.
Please support me in this endeavour and support us moving forward with our Tiratanaloka Unlimited plans.
Much Love Karunadhi
